This week, Chief Collins-Brown is pleased to report two sixth-graders, Jack and Ben, from Proctor School completed their “Work-A-Day” assignments in a truly professional and admirable manner. Students assisted the on duty shift in daily responsibilities and tasks typically completed within a work day at the Topsfield Fire Department. These duties included washing the dirt and grease off of Engine 3, completing a daily inventory and equipment check of Ambulance 1, and helping to conduct a fire drill at the Topsfield Vocational Academy (its every kid’s dream to pull the fire alarm). Proper maintenance of our equipment is essential to make sure the package of the truck, equipment, and firefighters are ready to respond to an emergency at any time day or night. It’s also important to keep up on regular fire safety training in our schools. Thank you for the work young men!
