Permits will be issued at fire headquarters from January 15 to May 1 — 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Purchase your permit at the fire department for $10
- When you want to burn brush call the fire department 978-887-5148 Ext 333.
- Leave your name, address and permit number. (Permit numbers are located on the top left corner of your permit)
Burning will be allowed only on the property designated on this permit.
Burning is allowed between January 15 and May 1. Burning is allowed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All fires shall be started no later than noon and be extinguished by 4 p.m. Burning shall be at least 75 feet from all structures. Burning must take place on land closest to the source of material. The fire shall be attended until completely extinguished. There shall be available a water supply at all times. Fire shall be burned down to coals and covered with snow, water, sand or soil.
Items that may be burned:
Brush, cane and forestry debris from residentail operations. No debris from commercial or industrial land clearing operations may be burned
