Topsfield Fire Chief Jen Collins-Brown would like to offer the community a chance to have a fun activity to do while reaching out to seniors during the COVID 19 outbreak. Administrator Jeff Gangi from the Masconomet Healthcare Center at 123 High Street has reached out to the Town of Topsfield in an effort to provide some entertainment to the center’s senior population while the facility is essentially locked down for visitors, as a matter of safety for the patients. To cut down on potential disease spread, Masconomet has created an email account for children and families that are home from work or school to send well-wishes to senior citizens in the facility. Instead of sending cards or treats which may be contaminated with the virus or other illnesses, anyone interested can use the email address: [email protected] to send cards, pictures, or videos to entertain senior citizens while they are isolated from their typical visitors. This will allow some means of outside contact for the population in Masco while the COVID 19 situation unfolds.
