Chief Jenifer Collins-Brown is pleased to announce the Topsfield Fire Department’s successful application and award of this year’s Child Passenger Safety Seat Distribution Grant Program. The grant, awarded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Grants and Research, gives TFD $1,446.00 in car seats to freely distribute to anyone who needs one. Seat types include infant seats, convertible seats, belt positioning boosters, and simple no-back boosters. These seats will help keep children safe on roadways, providing up to date seats that are compliant with the most recent regulations in CPS manufacturing. A carseat giveaway event will be announced later in the year, so as not to risk the safety or health of fire personnel or the public during the global COVID-19 outbreak. Chief Collins-Brown thanks the Baker-Polito Administration for the support in funding this grant, any questions regarding TFD’s grant award can be forwarded to Chief Collins-Brown at [email protected] or asked via phone at 978-887-5148.
